Chelsea should fear losing this academy gem as much as Hudson-Odoi

The Callum Hudson-Odoi transfer has dominated Chelsea news recently, as Bayern Munich barraged us with bids for the young winger.

We kept hold of him in the end, but it seems that’s just for now. The Germans will be back this summer, presumably with some even bigger bids.

All this is distracting us from the fact that we risk losing another superb talent – Andreas Christensen.

The young Dane made his 50th club appearance and kept a clean sheet against Huddersfield, and reminded everyone of the quality he has.

He also is upset about a lack of game time, and while it’s possible to give Callum Hudson-Odoi minutes as a substitute, it’s tougher for Maurizio Sarri to break up his defence to give Christensen the games he wants.

He has his 50th game, but unless things change very drastically, he’s unlikely to get 50 more. As well as watching Hudson-Odoi go this summer, we might end up watching Christensen go too.
