How Chelsea can beat Manchester United in massive cup clash

It’s only Friday, and the game against Malmo is only just behind us, but understandably our attention is already turning to Monday night.

That’s when we take on Manchester United in the FA Cup, and we’re going to face an immense test.

Given we only just scraped past minnows Malmo 2-1, we should be very afraid of facing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team. That said, we’ve picked out three ways we can improve our chances of winning.

The first is simple – defend well, and compactly. This team were torn apart by Manchester City last week, and United are even more reliant on pace and deadly finishing on the counter. OGS’ reign so far has been built on Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial breaking at speed. Cut that out and we’ll be in good shape.

Secondly, we need to protect Jorginho and get him into the game. Other teams have targeted him with success, and we need to be prepared to United doing the same thing. If we can get him on the ball a lot we’ll be in good shape.

Thirdly, and most importantly, we need to get Gonzalo Higuain the ball. We should dominate possession at home against the Red Devils, but that’s pointless unless we can get it forward. We can’t let the Argentine be a spectator as he was against City.
