Chelsea’s dressing room issues are going from bad to… weird.
After a weekend which saw Maurizio Sarri come out and accuse his squad of being “difficult to motivate”, and the whole atmosphere around the club is pretty tense right now.
Andreas Christensen is the latest person to fall foul of Sarri’s wrath, and the reasoning is pretty bizarre.
The defender left the Chelsea bench against Arsenal to use the loo after his manager had used all three subs, and didn’t return. It’s certainly pretty disrespectful to your teammates on the pitch.
According to The Times, the coach was furious with this behaviour, and the Danish defender could be on the naughty step for some time.
On the other hand, maybe that’s what he wants? He was linked with a move to Barcelona before this window, and the club weren’t willing to let him go.
Perhaps this is his way of forcing a move?
