Predicted XI: Marcos Alonso to be finally dropped by Sarri

Chelsea face Newcastle at home today, and Maurizio Sarri’s team will be largely dictated by rotation.

At the back, Azpi plays on the right, with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger restored as the first choice pair. We really think this is the week Marcos Alonso is replaced by Emerson though.

In the middle, there’s N’Golo Kante and Jorginho as the undroppables, and Mateo Kovacic should be back in the team after a spell on the sidelines.

Up front it’s a little hard to call. Sarri all but  confirmed Callum Hudson-Odoi wouldn’t start as he played twice in a row, so assuming Pedro and Willian are fit we reckon they play out wide with Eden Hazard up top again.

We failed to score in our last two home games, let’s make sure that doesn’t happen again today. That stat alone might be enough to tempt Sarri to play Olivier Giroud up front.
