Eden Hazard did not have his best game against Newcastle, and playing in the false 9 position is clearly limiting him, but that didn’t stop him adding another impressive stat to his collection.
Hazard picked up the assist for Willian’s goal, making it 10 goals and 10 assists this season.

The fact that only Leo Messi is up there with him just goes to show how good this season has been for Eden. We are largely are so occupied with how the team is doing as a whole at the moment that we don’t have the chance to appreciate how well he’s playing.
So often he carries us, and when he’s shut down we look weak. This stat shows how well he’s doing, but also how reliant we are on him, given how few goals we’ve actually scored in the league in the last couple of months.
