Maurizio Sarri reveals when Higuain will play his first game for Chelsea

It’s an open secret now that Chelsea will sign Gonzalo Higuain as their new striker to replace Alvaro Morata up front in Maurizio Sarri’s preferred 4-3-3 system.

The Argentina striker is expected to complete his move to the West London club on Wednesday and significantly boost the Blues attack. But the indications from the club was that they were desperate to register Higuain in time for the Carabao Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

But Maurizio Sarri has declared it will be difficult to have his new hitman against the North London side as he needs to speak with the clubs doctor first.

The League Cup semi-final meeting will be played at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, but Higuain who is yet to be announced will not have trained enough for Sarri to assess his fitness ahead of the clash and the Italian says Chelsea fans may have to wait to see their new signing in action.
