“When you lose, you learn” – Marcos Alonso speaks out after Arsenal horror show

Marcos Alonso is a player who has come in for a lot of criticism in the last few months, and the game against Arsenal yesterday was no exception.

The Spaniard was caught out time and again in defence, and it was widely pointed out on social media that he didn’t connect with a single one of his 8 crosses.

But to be fair to him, he fronted up and spoke to the media after the game about the  manner of the defeat, and how Chelsea can get out of this bad spell.

The Daily Mail have his quotes where he talks about the game:

“We made silly mistakes. We provoked them to gain confidence and come to press us because we were making mistakes. In the second half we tried but it was too late and we couldn’t score. When you lose, you learn. We have to analyse the game and improve quickly because there is no time to think. We have to perform again in four days.”

It’s more generic player speak really, just saying that we have to do better. His own personal performance isn’t really mentioned, it’s just a vague nod to the whole team not doing well.

How about taking some personal responsibility?
