Liverpool are looking to shock Chelsea with a bid for promising young winger Callum Hudson-Odoi after reports suggest the Reds want to leapfrog Bayern Munich for the talented forward.
Hudson-Odoi is keen to leave Chelsea in this winter transfer window, after failing to nail down a regular place in Maurizio Sarri’s first team. Battling with Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard for a spot up front behind the main striker, the 18-year old has often been named on the bench or at times left out of the matchday squad, even for cup games.
Bayern had already made four bids for the U-20 England international with the latest offer reported to be worth £35million, according to Sky Sports. Liverpool would have to cough out more than the £35m if they are to convince Chelsea to do business with them. According to TalkSport, Jurgen Klopp’s side have already ‘met’ with the Chelsea youngster to discuss personal terms.
It is, however, unlikely that Chelsea will do business with a direct Premier League rival, considering how competitive the Anfield outfit have become in recent seasons.
