Why this latest move by Eden Hazard on his future will make Chelsea furious

According to Spanish news agency Sport, Eden Hazard already has had a deal in place to sign for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit ahead of a summer move, a decision that could anger Chelsea’s top brass if confirmed true.

The Blues have been trying to tie the Belgium international to a new contract but have failed to do so in recent months especially after last summer’s World Cup in Russia where the forward blossomed for Belgium. The Red Devils’ march to the semi-final and eventual bronze medal was largely due to Hazard’s influence on games from the start of the competition.

The player has said in the past that he wants to join Los Blancos and that talk has intensified lately. He is quoted by Sky Sports to have said that having won everything in England ‘doesn’t mean I’m leaving’. But Sport’s report only a day after Hazard’s comments signals the player could leave next summer. The paper says Hazard has been offered an annual deal worth €13 million plus a potential bonus worth €3 million.

With about 18 months remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s top hierarchy may be angered by this latest development as the rules do not allow a player and a club to enter agreement until when the player enters his last six months of the deal.
