David Luiz has been included with Eden Hazard in WhoScored’s “best XI players from Europe’s top 5 leagues this season so far”. Chelsea fans might be a little surprised to hear that there’s only one better centre back in Europe this season.
Now to be fair to David, he has had some fantastic games too. Yesterday he pinged some passes we thought we might not see again at Stamford Bridge after Cesc Fabregas’ departure, and assisted the opening goal with a superb effort.
But he’s also had some shockers too, and the league game against Tottenham earlier this season was an example of the kind of lapses he can have.
