Higuain’s agent is in London but these massive obstacles could still stop a Chelsea transfer

There have been tons of Gonzalo Higuain rumours in recent days, but this at least sounds like some concrete information.

The Sun are among a vast number of English publications re-reporting word from Italy that Gonzalo Higuain’s agent (and brother) Nicolas is in London.

The word is that he’s here to negotiate with Chelsea over his brother’s transfer, but we can never know exactly why.

Even if that’s the case, it’s no guarantee a deal gets done. There’s so much potential complexity here, given that the striker is only on loan at current club AC Milan from Juventus.

It also seems like a hard one for Chelsea’s hierarchy to countenance – they don’t even like giving contract extensions to 30 year olds, are they really going to give up what would presumably be massive money for the Argentine?

A loan deal would work – but why would AC Milan give up on their main striker midway through the season?
