Gonzalo Higuain is set to complete his six-month loan deal to Chelsea on Wednesday after landing in the United Kingdom early on Wednesday morning, as per the Evening Standard’s Simon Johnson.
#Higuain landed at Farnborough airport just under an hour ago. As long as traffic is okay, it only takes around 30-35 minutes from there to get to #cfc training ground.

The striker is expected to beef up Chelsea’s attack line after Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have struggled to adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s tactics this season. The campaign is not going too well for the Blues who now sit fourth on the Premier League table, four points off Tottenham who are third and only three points above fifth-placed Arsenal.
Most shockingly, considering Sarri’s attacking style, Chelsea have scored the least number of goals among the top five with just 40 after 23 games. Higuain’s arrival could boost Chelsea’s numbers in this category significantly if he hits the ground running immediately after completing the deal.
His arrival in London earlier today suggests he could face Tottenham on Thursday in the Carabao Cup semi-finals if he manages to complete all paperwork by 12 noon.
