This €18m attacker is the stopgap Chelsea need in two positions

Chelsea’s needs this January are a central midfielder to replace Cesc Fabregas, a central striker or a winger.

When we play Eden Hazard up front we’re short out wide, and when we play him wide we have only the disastrous Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata to choose from.

The best solution to this is to buy a player who can also play as a striker or a winger, a bargain option who can fill our squad for the moment and then be sold on if he doesn’t impress.

There’s surely no better option for that role right now than Pablo Sarabia. He can play out wide or up front, has been banging in the goals for Sevilla, and looks ready to slot straight in to a Sarri side.

The best part is his miniscule €18m release clause. We could buy him for that, see how he gets on, and then sell him in the summer if it doesn’t work out, probably at a profit anyway

Who knows, maybe he would even outperform Pedro and Willian instead, and we could sell them instead?
