Date set for Cesc Fabregas to complete Monaco transfer after surprise development

Cesc Fabregas could soon be confirmed an AS Monaco player after agreeing to a three-year deal according to Sky Sports, however, there is confusion over when he could actually move to join his new side.

The Blues are firmly looking around for a replacement for Fabregas this month as they know the danger of allowing the Spain international to leave without cover provided for Jorginho. In Maurizio Sarri’s system, Chelsea play a three-man midfield that has summer signing Jorginho at the base, working out how attacks are shaped.

After failing to usurp the Italian midfielder in the Chelsea team, Fabregas is now on his way out and per the report by Sky, the Blues are holding off the deal, just so they find a replacement this month. Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is ready to allow Fabregas leave but once his cover comes in.

L’Equipe says Fabregas has already had a photoshoot with Monaco and all the French Ligue 1 side wait for his clearance from his current employers to announce their latest signing.
