Chelsea’s 2018 winter arrival could be heading back to Italy after enquiry by Juventus

Chelsea left full back Emerson Palmieri could be set for a return to Italy after Juventus make enquiries to sign him in the January transfer window.

Palmieri has struggled to seize hold of the left full back role from Marcos Alonso since his arrival from AS Roma last year, reducing him to limited chances in cup games. He has made only seven Premier League appearances since January 2017.

According to Goal, Juventus are not ready to discuss a loan option and are pushing to buy the player outright, with left-wing-back Leonardo Spinazzola set to be loaned to Bologna this month. Palmieri may take the appraoch from Juventus a bit more seriously considering how he has struggled to fend of Alonso.

Chelsea are already locked in negotiations with Juventus for the potential deal for Gonzalo Higuain and perhaps, the Blues allowing Palmieri to leave could affect their attempts to beef up their attack this month.
