Chelsea must keep faith in Sarri-ball project if they want to reap its rewards

Maurizio Sarri is over halfway through his first season at Chelsea, and it’s been a rocky ride.

There was a strong opening period of the season with a long unbeaten run that has set us up very nicely for the rest of the campaign.

Despite that impressive spell, there was always the feeling that we were overachieving a little, and that was confirmed when we suffered a battering from Tottenham that made us all a little skittish about the rest of this season.

Since then we’ve wobbled but not yet fallen down, and we’re still in with a strong chance of making the Chanpions League, which is all we were really aiming for at the start of the season.

Add a new forward this month and replace Cesc Fabregas and things could get even better. Forget the doom and gloom, and just enjoy the journey. We’re still winning, and a few tweaks might just see us playing the fast football we’ve been hoping for.
