Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata may be set for the most unlikely rescue yet since his struggles began in London in 2017.
According to AS in Spain, Barcelona have been monitoring the 25-year old’s situation and are ready to test Chelsea’s resolve with a bid this month. Sevilla have been linked strongly with the former Real Madrid striker as they are enquiring to make a loan bid for Morata.
With the reports growing increasingly that Morata is keen to try his luck elsewhere, Barcelona want to move in and sign him for the next six months. However, any potential bids for Morata will depend on the departures from the Camp Nou. Denis Suarez might join Arsenal while Munir is at the center of negotiations between the Catalonian club and Sevilla.
Morata has scored nine goals this season for Chelsea with only five in the Premier League. The deal looks impossible though as Barcelona usually do not make loan moves and the fact Morata is a former player of Real raises eyebrows. But the transfer window has already had major shocks, and this could be another.
