Why Ruben Loftus-Cheek will not be going on loan despite the rumours

There have been rumours in the last 24 hours linking Ruben Loftus-Cheek with a move away from Chelsea, but that seems very unlikely to us.

The club know Ruben is a really valuable asset, as a young home grown academy product, and an England international, close to being a regular starter for both.

Yes he’s not getting the starts he wants for Chelsea, but then again he is getting more and more minutes over the last couple of months.

ESPN have linked Bournemouth and West Ham as potential moves, and it’s true that he could play every week there and get a lot of top flight experience.

But on the other hand he’s now learning under Sarri, the manager whose team he hopes to break into, and he seems to be doing well.

As long as his standing in the Chelsea squad is improving – and at the moment it is – RLC will be inclined to stay. If in a year’s time he can’t crack the first team he may think again, but for now he’s on track to be a regular before too long.
