Maurizio Sarri says whether he will use Eden Hazard as a striker again

Maurizio Sarri surprised everyone with his team against Man City yesterday, unleashing Pedro, Willian and Eden Hazard as a front 3 with no recognised number 9 in the team at all.

Hazard took up that central striker position and was very isolated, leading to questions after the game to Maurizio Sarri about whether the experiment would be repeated. The Italian’s  response, which you can see below, makes his feelings pretty clear:

Ultimately you can see that Sarri wants to play with an orthodox striker – he’s certainly given both Giroud and Morata enough chances to find they way back to form. But if they continue in this bad form, he’s going to have continue thinking about the option of Hazard as a striker – especially if we keep winning big games like yesterday playing that way.

A January move for a striker – for the second year in a row – is also looking like an increasing possiblity.
