David Luiz’s Chelsea future has been in question in recent times, after some shaky performances against Tottenham and Fulham.
But a huge performance and a goal against Manchester City means he’s back in fans hearts, and his comments after the game with regards to his new contract will have endeared him to fans even further.
“We are still talking, let’s see. Let’s see what the future brings,” the Brazilian said of his contract situation. “I love this club, everybody knows I want to stay.” he said in quotes carried by Eurosport.
Of course he’s not likely to say anything else. Why wouldn’t he want to stay in his adopted home, starting for one of the top teams in the league?
It will probably be time to move on from the Brazilian this summer, and the club aren’t likely to offer him more than a year. I guess we’ll find out just how much he loves the club – and how much the club love him, when the contract is on the table.
He wasn’t good enough for PSG a few years ago. We should probably accept he soon won’t be good enough for us either.
