How long Eden Hazard will be out for revealed after picking up ankle injury in Brighton victory

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard hobbled off in his side’s win over Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend after picking up what looked like an ankle injury.

The Belgium international was very instrumental in Chelsea’s win over the Seagulls following his provision of Pedro’s goal early on in the game, before finding the back of the net himself with a fine finish before halftime.

Playing as a false nine for the second game running, his time on the pitch, however, ended with seven minutes to go, after ‘going down in a heap’ as reported by Metro. He was immediately replaced by Olivier Giroud who has been relegated to the bench in the last three games in all competitions.

Maurizio Sarri giving an update on Hazard’s injury allayed the initial concerns while confirming the Belgian needs only two or three days of rest. The 27-year old will most likely be back in the next game.

“Eden is okay. It’s only a knock, only a knock,’ Sarri said after the victory. I spoke with the doctor five minutes ago and it’s not a big problem. Maybe one day to rest, two days at most.”
