European giant interested in Chelsea defender despite notable blunder

It was about a year ago that Andreas Christensen broke into Antonio Conte’s Chelsea first team, and his first few months were exceptional.

The Dane was put in the lineup ahead of David Luiz after the Roma debacle in the Champions League, and he quickly established himself as one of the brightest young defensive talents around.

He kept that form up for some time, and looked pretty unshakable at the back. That was until an error against Barcelona in the Champions League all but cost Chelsea the game, and sent him into an awful confidence spiral that he’s yet to really recover from.

Despite that, the Evening Standard report that the defender still caught the eye of the Catalan club’s scouts, and that they are keen to make him a member of their team, noting his ability on the ball.

Whether or not they remember him squaring the ball for Leo Messi to score in the biggest game of AC’s career, we’re not so sure.
