Chelsea’s search for a replacement for Morata and Giroud hits new low with link to £20m Premier League striker

If reports are to be believed, Chelsea are on the lookout for a new striker to replace Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata who have failed to deliver on their promises since their respective purchases.

Both strikers are by far failing to convince their employers they can be trusted for the remainder of the season. Morata has scored only five league goals this season while Giroud continues his struggle to get more than the one he scored against Tottenham Hotspur in the Blues 3-1 defeat.

Maurizio Sarri has stuck with Eden Hazard up front in a false nine role in the last two Premier League games and the Belgian looks to be on course to keep his place up there if his positive form continues, after scoring one and assisting twice.

Now the Sun reports that Fulham’s unsettled striker Alexander Mitrovic has become a target for the Blues in their bid to change their frontline after the striker scored seven goals in 17 appearances this season.
