Chelsea turn to French Ligue 1 star to replace one of Pedro and Willian next summer

Chelsea are after Olympique Marseille winger Florian Thauvin with reports in France saying the sought-after forward is keen to leave the club for Champions League football.

The Blues are struggling for goals this season. Their strikers Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are not looking like the producing a regular outlet for goals and the wingers Williana, Hazard and Pedro have their goals dried up in the last few months. Metro says Chelsea are one of the top clubs in pursuit of the Marseille winger and could launch an official bid for him after this season ends.

It will be little surprise if Chelsea are the only club interested in signing the 24-year old though. Thauvin has enjoyed a fine 12 months of football crowned by his involvement in France’s squad that won the World Cup in Russia last summer.

He has scored 29 goals in 44 appearances from the wing and continues to prove his readiness for the big step up. Hopefully, it’s Chelsea that steal him from under the noses of the other European giants.
