Chelsea turn to £30m Premier League striker to solve striker problems in January

Chelsea are growing increasingly confident they will win the race to sign Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson after the Daily Express reported the Blues will submit a bid of £30 million in January.

Currently the leading scorer for the Cherries, Wilson is attracting interest from top clubs in the English top flight including Liverpool, but Chelsea seem to have taken the lead in signing him for the second half of the season and beyond.

A report by Metro also claims the Blues will make him their first signing of the winter transfer window. The 26-year old has scored eight times in the Premier League as well as registering six assists this season.

Both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud are struggling to get goals this season and with Maurizio Sarri opting for Eden Hazard as a false nine in recent games, the signs are clear that the technical team are urging the club’s board to get in another striker in January.
