Chelsea draw Nottingham Forest in FA Cup

Chelsea have drawn Nottingham Forest to begin their defence of the FA Cup.

The Blues beat Norwich, Newcastle, Hull, Leicester and Southampton on the way to a final where they were able to beat Manchester United thanks to an Eden Hazard penalty.

They faced Forest last year, but in the Carabao Cup instead. That game saw Ethan Ampadu’s first team debut for the club.

The Blues are fighting on four fronts at the moment, with qualification from the Europa League secured to beyond Christmas, and the Carabao Cup journey going smoothly already.

This fixture comes in January, at which point we’ll know a lot more about how the season is going. If we’re still in with a shout in all four then, things will be going extremely well.

We’ve certainly shown we’ve got the depth in most positions to compete against weaker teams, it’s against the bigger sides we’ve got to improve.
