Chelsea could confirm first winter transfer in two weeks after winning race against Man United and Liverpool

Chelsea are set to complete the transfer of Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic with an announcement set for the first week of January, according to reports in Germany.

The Daily Mail says the Blues have stolen a march on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and Liverpool, with the American preferring to play under Maurizio Sarri. It is understood that the player will not be available to the Blues in January, as Dortmund have insisted on the deal to release the player being completed in the summer of 2019. They say a move could be agreed “as soon as January” – which is just a fortnight away now.

Both Liverpool and Man United were after the youngster but Sarri’s impressive start at Stamford Bridge coupled with the better prospects at the the club may have swayed Pulisic to choose Chelsea. With Eden Hazard almost certain to leave the club next summer for Real Madrid, there will likely be enough game time to go around for Pedro, Willian, and any other addition.

The Metro also says the deal agreed between the two clubs is around £60million, with the 20-year old starting to make noises in Germany about his dream to play in the Premier League.
