Chelsea are being linked with a move for another Serie A star – the 21 year old Nicolo Barella, who plays for Calgiari in Sardinia.
The midfielder has been widely praised in his country as a great talent, and has clearly attracted attention from Chelsea’s scouts, as well as our manager Maurizio Sarrio
And The Sun in Ireland have the report claiming that Sarri is pushing for a move as soon as next month for him – with a reported price tag €40m
To be fair, while January moves aren’t that popular – or successful given Chelsea’s recent track record – this might be an exceptional circumstance.
Chelsea look like a really good team right now, but one very obviously lacking a third midfielder to play with Jorginho and Kante. The addition of a player Sarri likes – even if we pay over the odds – could tip us into trophy winning status.
And, that’s what it’s all about, after all.
