Chelsea chase super talented former Newcastle flop

Chelsea have been linked with a former Newcastle United flop.

No not Michael Owen, Florian Thauvin.

The winger came in to St James’ Park at the peak of Alan Pardew’s French revoultion, but never really found his feet and soon returned to France after just 16 first team appearances for the club in the North East.

Over the last couple of seasons, back at Marseille, he’s really found his feet and started showing the skill that lead the Magpies to be interested in him in the first place.

The Metro claim we’re among the clubs chasing him, and at 25 he’s the perfect age to try and make the step up again.

He was in Didier Deschamps France squad this summer, so he’s already well acquainted with Olivier Giroud and N’Golo Kante.

A creative influence off both wings, he might just be the perfect man to join Willian and Pedro as our supports for Eden Hazard.
