Willian speaks about potential £70m Chelsea transfer target Richarlison

Willian has been speaking to the press in Brazil on the international break about his Selecao teammate Richarlison.

Chelsea were linked with the attacker two summers ago, but when he did eventually make a Premier League move, it was to Watford, where he had an exceptional start but then tailed off.

The former Fluminense man then went to Everton this summer, and has since been banging the goals in.

A callup for Brazil followed, and the attacker bagged two goals on his debut.

Willian clearly rates him and had the following to say:

“Richarlison is doing very well with Everton,” Willian is quoted as saying on the Daily Star.

“He is one of the greatest surprises of the Premier League at the beginning of the season.

“Scoring goals, being a key player for his club. And in his first call up with Seleção he scored twice and did a great job.

“He has a lot of quality, knows how to score goals and has a lot of potential to help the Seleção.”

Given we were linked with him previously, it will be no surprise to see further rumours in the summer – especially if he continues scoring at this rate.

The question is how much he will cost – it could be quite a significant amount given Everton reportedly paid £40m last summer.

He’s been playing as a striker recently, and could be the perfect fit for us Maurizio Sarri. Would we really be willing to pay the £60m+ it might cost though?
