Sarri slams Chelsea performance and calls defending “a disaster”

Maurizio Sarri has been speaking after the game against Spurs, and he didn’t hold back in criticism of his team.

The Blues were dreadful in every phase of the game, and their coach was perfectly justified for laying into them in the way he did.

There will be questions asked about his tactics too, but ultimately it was the players on the pitch who were disappointing, and the coach didn’t hold back in his press conference after the game:

Those points are all valid, but as the manager – especially one who has just had two weeks on the training pitch to prepare for this game – one would think that pressing is as much down to him as them.

The truth is that this side has never looked too sturdy when attacked, and some good fortune combined with easy fixtures has helped them to their unbeaten start.

That’s not to say we haven’t looked very impressive at times, but this kind of game has been coming.

It will be fascinating to see how we react now.
