Chelsea were given a huge wakeup call as they were smashed by Spurs at Wembley.
It was a pretty dreadful game all round, with only Kepa emerging with much credit – and that’s despite being at fault for one of the goals.
The defending was slack, the midfield failed to control the game or make any impression on Tottenham’s play, and the forwards couldn’t create any threat. Even Eden Hazard was crowded out every time he got on the ball.
The late consolation from Olivier Giroud added a little shine but wasn’t enough to remove the sour taste of a truly awful day at the office for these players.
It’s hard to think of a suitable rating for a lot of them, but it’s fair to say it was a dreadful showing all round.
