Chelsea have long been chasing Inter striker Mauro Icardi, but according to CaughtOffside, that chase may now be at an end.
Icardi is one of the most in demand number 9s in world football, and he’s priced accordingly. It seems likely to that it would take more than €100m to get him to the Bridge, and that seems a low estimate.

Along with Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski he’s up there among the world’s top number 9s, and anyone who wants to buy him will have to stump up serious cash.
Whether he would want to come to Chelsea at all is another matter. He’s having a great time at Inter, and it looks as though maybe only an offer from Real Madrid would persuade him to leave.
