Chelsea have been linked with a move for Denis Suarez, the Barcelona midfielder.
Suarez has featured very little under Ernesto Valverde, and was this week left out of the squad to face Inter entirely.
He’s had only one appearance this term, and has decided that his time is up in Catalonia, with the Metro reporting that the 24 year old could now be set to move to Stamford Bridge.
He’s a talented and technically gifted midfielder, but it’s hard to see where he would fit in. While it may well be true, as the Metro claim, that Maurizio Sarri tried to sign Suarez before, he may not still be so keen on him. Chelsea have plenty of players in his mould, and adding another one when we still have significant needs up front and on the wings might not be the best use of our resources, even if we lose Mateo Kovacic as the Metro’s piece suggests.
