“I cannot see a reason for football without fun” – Maurizio Sarri explains his philosophy in fascinating interview

It’s the international week, so as we’ve had in every period like this season, the Chelsea team have taken the chance to get to know Maurizio Sarri a little better.

The manager arrived with barely time to get his feet under the table this summer, so it’s no surprise that they want to drip feed us this look at a more personal side of the gaffer.

We’ve seen plenty of his team on the pitch now, but don’t know his personality too well – although his rapidly improving English isn’t proving too much of an issue.

The latest interview on Chelsea’s official website has Sarri talking about his footballing education, and his overall philosophy of the game.

It’s a little different to the pragmatic ethos of certain other managers, but it makes a lot of sense. Fans at the Bridge have had to get used to some hairy moments, but it’s not been dull for a second.
