Christian Pulisic has been speaking to the media in this international break, and he’s inevitably been asked about his future.
That lead to places like the Metro linking him once again with Chelsea, given his positive comments about the Premier League in these interviews.
The idea that it’s just a “rumour” that Chelsea are interested in him is absurd. There is absolutely no way we aren’t very interested in signing him.
Firstly, we have two aging players in his position in Willian and Pedro, who need an exciting young players to replace them.
Secondly, he looks like a world class talent.
Thirdly, he’s a handsome American budding superstar – a marketing exec’s dream. He will sell shirts from Cape Cod to San Diego.
Fourthly, he’s at a club where we can realistically hope to get him from. Not at Real or even Atletico, we’ve seen repeatedly in recent years that Dortmund players are available at the right price.
I could go on. Whether or not we sign him will depend on who else wants him (pretty much everyone, for similar reasons for us). But is it just a rumour that we’re interested? No, it’s logic.
