AC Milan make plans to secure another Chelsea outcast in January

Corriere Dello Sport report that Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has become a key target for AC Milan as they begin to push to make him a signing in January.

The Blues are counting on releasing their former first-team regular to free up space for other central defensive arrivals next summer, and Corriere Dello Sport report via Calciomercato that Genarro Gattuso.

With Alessio Romagnoli, Matteo Musacchio and Mattia Caldara all out of action due to a variety of injuries, Milan are on the lookout for a capable pair of legs to bring stability to Gattuso’s defense as they struggle to get on with the Serie A title chase.

The Rossoneri have identified Cahill as a man who can restore some solidity to their defense and they want to sign him in the new year.

Cahill has seen his stock fall sharply in London. He now fails to make the starting line up under Maurizio Sarri, with Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz preferred in the two-man center back partnership.
