West Ham interested in one of Chelsea’s outcasts with a prepared bid to be made in January

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill could be set to leave the club in January after failing to nail down a regular spot in Maurizio Sarri’s first team this season.

The Blues captain has not been at his best for some months now and even before the arrival of Sarri at the club Cahill had lost his place in the first team to Antonio Rudiger. The situation has not changed for the 32-year old in this campaign. In fact, it has gotten worse.

The former England international is not getting minutes under his belt and continues to play second fiddle to the first choice partnership of David Luiz and Rudiger in Sarri’s preferred 4-3-3 formation.

The Mirror claims Chelsea’s one-time dependable center back will be open to a move out of the club in the new year and West Ham United have shown interest.

The report says Manuel Pellegrini has given the green light for the Hammers top officials to register a firm interest in the former Bolton Wanderers defender who now needs minutes to reestablish himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
