Tiemoue Bakayoko’s agent comes out to try and deny embarrassing rumours

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s agent has firmly denied the rumours that circulated last week that his client was going to be returning to Chelsea in January.

The midfielder joined Chelsea from Monaco last summer, ostensibly as a replacement for Nemanja Matic who went to Manchester United. Bakayoko played some good games early on, but he was a symptom of the collapse of Antonio Conte’s team as he put in some remarkably poor performances in the spring.

He was sent out to AC Milan on loan this season to recover some form, but things haven’t gone well, and there were rumours that he might even have his temporary spell cut short, claims that have been denied firmly by his agent:

“Bakayoko is happy in Milan and Milan are happy with him. It was known he would need a bit of time, but everyone is convinced he can contribute a lot to their season. All this chatter about a return to Chelsea in January is completely unfounded.” run the quotes from Federico Pastorello carried by SportWitness

To be honest we never believed those rumours to begin with, but the fact that Bakayoko’s agent is addressing them seriously and directly is not exactly a promising sign.

Things can only get better… we hope.
