Player Ratings: Good marks all round as Chelsea swat away Southampton

Chelsea beat Southampton 3-0 at St Mary’s today, and it was a solid performance all round.

In goal Kepa was largely untroubled, but made two great saves when it mattered. The back for kept him protected too, and all deserve praise for their work at the back.

In midfield the introduction of the fresh Ross Barkley made the difference as the midfielder made the difference with a goal and an assist. His partners Kante and Jorginho were excellent too.

In the front line, Eden Hazard kept up his great form with a goal and an assist, Olivier Giroud didn’t score but got a great assist, and Willian was a little wasteful but threatening too, as always.

Of the subs, it was Alvaro Morata who made the biggest impact, as he chipped home a goal with the last touch of the game.
