One of Chelsea’s failing strikers attracting interest from Premier League club for January window

West Ham United are reportedly harboring an interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and plan to submit a bid for his signature in January.

The France international is yet to score a goal this season in all competitions, but his role in Chelsea’s attack seems to convince many that he is not yet a finished article. Giroud combines well with Chelsea’s talismanic attacker Eden Hazard to produce the kind of magic we have become accustomed to in the Premier League this season.

Despite his profligacy, the World Cup winner with France continues to get favor from Les Bleus head coach Didier Deschamps and as revealed by the Sun, Manuel Pellegrini of West Ham as well.

The Hammers are keen to establish their longstanding interest in the 32-year old, to beef up their attack. Currently, West Ham have Andy Carroll as their main target man but injuries have curtailed the former Liverpool forward’s career at the Olympic stadium.
