“Morata has an innate talent” – Sarri refuses to say that he wants Higuain

After Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho, it’s no surprise that the Chelsea board wanted someone a little more pliable as their new man in charge – and it looks like they’ve found him.

The endless transfer whinings of the preceding pair have been replaced by a far more tranquil and zen state of mind from the former Napoli man.

He’s in the Italian press at the moment with the club on international break, and inevitably they were trying to pin him down on some transfer gossip. But the quotes they squeezed out of him, which you can read translated here, show that he’s still determined to say he’s happy with what he has:

“I’m very happy with Giroud who does a huge job for the team. And Morata, who has an innate talent, and will soon prove it,”  he replied when asked about whether he wanted Gonzalo Higuain.

Of course we can’t tell too much about what he really thinks – he’s bound to say this and he’s smart enough to stay diplomatic. But deep down, he must be thinking about what he could achieve with a goalscorer like Higuain in the team.
