Chelsea are asking for just €150m for Eden Hazard according to Don Balon.
They claim that the Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to sign the Belgian in January, and he has been quoted that fee.
Now that price is extremely low for a player who is up there with the world’s best, but it’s worth remembering that by the time this summer rolls around he will have just one year left on his contract, and his value will start dropping rapidly.
Hopefully we will tie him down to a deal long before then, but if we don’t manage that, and he still wants to go, we may have to accept a bid as low as the one suggested by Don Balon.
The idea that we’d let him go in January is absurd though – the worst case scenario is definitely that he leaves in the summer. Hopefully that won’t come true either.
