The Telegraph have claimed that Chelsea have interest in Krzysztof Piatek, the striker currently topping the scoring charts in Europe.
Their article on the ten players to watch out for in this round of Nations League action includes Piatek, who has started the season on fire with Genoa.
He has 13 goals in 8 games, and got another at the weekend. Top clubs all over Europe are taking notice, but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will pull the trigger.
We’re generally pretty cautious in the transfer market, and a spell of a couple of months of good form isn’t going to convince us of anything.
If on the other hand he’s a player who we’ve had our eye on for a while whose price is starting to rise rapidly, maybe we would consider rolling the dice given how poor our striking options currently are.
A more likely option seems the arrival of a veteran, striker in January, as we saw before with Drogba, Eto’o and Falcao at various points.
