Cesc Fabregas tells Chelsea teammates what they must do to become a ‘top team’

Chelsea are currently rated very highly by Premier League pundits, managers, and even rival fans because of the lovely attacking football Maurizio Sarri has introduced but somewhere in all the glamor of playing well, there is the odd inability to score enough goals.

One influential member of the dressing room, Cesc Fabregas admits if his side are to become ‘top team’ as they wish, they must be more ruthless in front of goal. Currently, Eden Hazard is the leading scorer in the Premier League top scoring charts, but that is no indication of a Chelsea goalscoring run.

In fact, the Blues are struggling to find goal especially – from the strikers who could have killed off games, sometimes even in the first half  But Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud still fail to live up to the task of finding the back of the net.

Fabregas lays the blame on his strikers, insisting if they take their chances, Chelsea would not have to grind out results.

“Sometimes you need to take risks. You have to fight for your team-mates and for the club. My type of football has always been to play with the ball, to have the ball, to create chances, have a forward mentality. Having movement with or without the ball.

I believe a lot in this team. As long as we are winning, the confidence of the team will be higher and higher. It’s impossible to be perfect but be as close to perfection as possible. Sometimes one nil, two nil, it’s not enough. If we want to be a top team, sometimes we need to go for the kill.”
