Cesc Fabregas breaks unwanted drought with goal against Derby County

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has broken a rather unwanted dry run without goals with a beautiful finish against Derby County.

The Blues are involved in a rather disastrous performance especially in their defense with the Blues conceding two goals in the first half. Having gone ahead via an own goal through on-loan youngster Fikayo Tomori, Chelsea conceded after Jack Marriot converted cooly into the bottom right of Willy Caballero’s goal.

Martyn Waghorn added the second for Frank Lampard’s side on the 27th minute to equalize another own goal by County player Keogh.

Fabregas then put the Blues ahead late in the first half with a Frank Lampard-esque shot. His goal was his first at Stamford Bridge since August 2017.

The Spain international has endured a torrid 12 months, failing to get consistent games under both Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri. This season, he has had to contend with cup games with Jorginho preferred in the Premier League.
