Gianfranco Zola has taken today’s press conference to give Maurizio Sarri a break as the games come thick and fast, and it’s given the press the chance to find out a little bit about how the relationship between the two is going.
I ask Zola how much he's learned from Sarri: "It's opened a new world for me… I thought a lot about footbal – I was wrong" #cfc

Zola was of course glowing in his praise of Sarri, as you can see above. Would you have expected anything else from the little genius? He was speaking about his boss too, let’s not forget.
The two are very different characters, and it’s no surprise to hear that Zola is learning a lot. He’s more of a vibes man, while Sarri is the thinker. It seems like a smart balance to keep things smooth in the dressing room.
It’s a shame there’s no behind the scenes documentary at Cobham this year, we’d love to see them discussing tactics and see what kind of Italian things they make small talk about.
