“There’s concrete interest” – Budding Bundesliga star confirms firm interest from Chelsea this summer

Chelsea was reportedly interested in signing one of the most intriguing players in European football this summer, Leon Bailey, with reports saying the player was also willing to move to Stamford Bridge.

The reports died down when Chelsea instead signed central midfielders and kept Willian and Eden Hazard from the lures of La Liga giants, but Bailey has revealed something was indeed cooking during this summer.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward enjoyed a successful campaign last season, scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, which raised eyebrows in most top clubs across the continent of his quality.

According to Fussball Transfers in Germany, via Football London, Bayern Munich’s £53 million bid did not convince the winger to sign a deal this summer, because he is focused on joining Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

Bailey is quoted to have said, he leaves his future in the hands of Bayer, who certainly may have been told of his London wishes.

“There’s concrete interest. What I can say is that my full focus is on developing myself as a young player, and that’s what I’ll focus on.

If a club wants me, my management and Bayer will take care of it.”
