Ethan Ampadu commits to Chelsea in a five-year new contract

Chelsea starlet Ethan Ampadu has tied his future to Chelsea after signing a new five-year contract after impressing the club’s top officials in the last few months.

The youngster is one of the highly rated stars in the Chelsea youth team and has at times had a go in the first team. Following his arrival from Exeter in 2017, Ampadu enjoyed seven appearances at the senior level and was a key player for the youth teams as well as Chelsea’s age-limit teams enjoyed a hugely successful campaign winning several trophies.

With this new deal, Ampadu will be expected to remain at Chelsea until 2023 and the club believes he will go on to have a stellar career at Stamford Bridge. On the club’s official website,  Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said she expects Ampadu to become a key player for the club in the coming years.

The player who turned 18 only last week can play in both defensive midfield and central defense as trialed by Maurizio Sarri in pre-season.
