N’Golo Kante has comforting words for Loftus-Cheek after injury blow

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s season, and maybe even his career, was dealt a massive blow by the injury he reportedly picked up in England training this week.

The Sun reported that the midfielder has hurt his foot in training, and will thus not be available for the two fixtures he was looking likely to start: against Liverpool and against PAOK in the Europa League.

But at least he has one thing to comfort him now: some sweet words from the world’s best defensive midfielder, N’Golo Kante. The Frenchman doesn’t say much about anything, but Reuters prised some praise from him for his teammate.

“When I came to Chelsea Ruben was already here and for sure he is a good player. Now he’s in the England squad. He did well last season at Crystal Palace and I think he’s ready to play,” the Frenchman whispered.

“He’s played some good games and now it’s the manager’s decision… he needs to keep working, to keep improving and I hope it will come at the right time.”

Those kinds of kind words are exactly what RLC will need to get him through what’s likely to be a tough few months mentally. Let’s hope he returns stronger than ever and ready to battle to play alongside N’Golo in the team for many years to come.
